If you're visiting Gdańsk with a dog, there is always one important question: Where can you enjoy breakfast, good food or a coffee while your dog isn't simply allowed, but genuinely welcome?

We found exactly that at Słodko Słono in Gdańsk – a cosy café with delicious food and a wonderfully welcoming attitude towards four-legged guests.

Słodko Słono in Danzig

A truly dog-friendly café in Gdańsk

You notice the difference as soon as you arrive.

Our dogs were warmly greeted and offered fresh water straight away – without us even having to ask.

For us, it's little things like this that make the difference between a place where dogs are simply allowed and a truly dog-friendly café.

But Słodko Słono has another very special four-legged feature: the café has its own little dog. 🐾

Rocket was delighted. The two got along immediately, and Rocket absolutely loved playing with his new little friend. While we enjoyed our food and coffee, Rocket was having his very own café experience.

These are exactly the little moments that make travelling with dogs so special to us.

Important: Your dog should be friendly and sociable

There is one thing to keep in mind if you are planning to visit Słodko Słono with your own dog.

As the café's little dog is around and naturally feels at home there, visiting dogs should be friendly and comfortable around other dogs.

This helps keep the experience relaxed and enjoyable for everyone – you, the other guests and, of course, the café's little four-legged host.

For us, being dog-friendly works both ways. As dog owners, we should also respect the dogs who call these places home.

Breakfast and coffee in Gdańsk with your dog

Słodko Słono isn't only worth visiting because it welcomes dogs. The food is another very good reason to stop by.

We really enjoyed everything we tried. The food was fresh, beautifully presented and, most importantly, delicious.

The café also has exactly the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay. A quick “let's just grab a coffee” can easily turn into a much longer and very relaxing break.

When exploring Gdańsk with a dog, places like this are perfect. After walking through the city, you can enjoy something to eat while your four-legged travel companion gets a chance to relax – or, in Rocket's case, make a new friend.

Dogs allowed or genuinely dog-friendly?

When we travel, we always make an important distinction:

Are dogs simply allowed, or are they genuinely welcome?

At Słodko Słono, the answer was very clear to us: dogs are welcome.

They are greeted, offered water and treated like guests rather than an inconvenience.

Rocket probably would have happily stayed much longer – after all, he had just made a new friend.

Our verdict: Słodko Słono in Gdańsk with a dog

If you're looking for a dog-friendly café in Gdańsk, Słodko Słono definitely deserves a place on your list.

Delicious food, a cosy atmosphere, genuinely warm hospitality towards dogs – plus a tiny four-legged host that Rocket would probably have happily taken home with him.

It's exactly the kind of place we love discovering and recommending when travelling with our dogs.
